I just got a Big Shot glove and have shot around 100 arrows with. It has already developed a definite groove which was surprising to me. Is this normal with this glove. I thought there was a plastic insert to prevent this from happening. I emailed American Leathers but I have not heard back yet. Great glove, considering I'm trying it after using a tab, just not sure if this groove thing is right or not.

Mine has a grove too. It doesnt affect me. just makes it easier to get consistent string placement.

I got mine in august 09 it also has the groove init. I use a deep hook and the groove doesnt seem to effect the release. I really like mine.

I don't know of a glove or tab that doesn't develop a groove after some shooting.  They all do, some more than others.  Usually, the heavier the draw weight, the more prominent the groove.  Doesn't affect release as far as I'm concerned.  String still slips off the nylon very cleanly.

A slight groove will form but likely won't go deeper.  I have been shooting mine for two years and like the other guys posted, it shouldn't affect your release.

Under the stall webbing is neoprene, not nylon or other
plastic.  Good shooting!

I have been shooting with mine for about 3 years.  There is a slight indentation but it does not adversely effect release.  I think they are great and just recently ordered another.  Not that the first was worn out but just as a backup.

I have also noticed a slight groove in my 2 gloves. It does not hamper me. I found that the elk glove has become loose where as the buff hide has kept it orginal fit for 3 years now. I think it could be the difference in the leathers?

I knew I could count on a fast answer here. So far I love the glove. I'm surprised that in the short time of shooting it I am about as consistent as with my tab.

Don't worry about that groove.  Shoot that glove, it just gets better. I have the dark colored Big Shot that is a couple of years old and a newer lighter colored Big Shot.  Heck, I even have the Wet Shot for bowfishing.

Did I mention I believe in the product.

Ray G:  Are you talking about the wet shot glove?  Haven't seen one of those.  The only neoprene on an American Leathers leather glove is in the hoof design over the top of the hand.  The finger stalls are leather covered with nylon.

Pretty much normal with any glove eventually.  I don't even notice with my Big Shots...

I have three of them. My buffalo hide one is 10+ years old and the wrist strap finally wore out this year. The fingers and rest of glove are still in great shape. Best glove there is.

I have two (med) buffalo hide bigshots for sale - check the classifieds. They are great gloves, I just cant use them any longer....I have bone spurs in my fingers and have to use a release now.

As everybody had posted don't care for the grooves it is natural and it doesn't affect accuracy.I get the Buffalo glove and I like it;I can shoot heavy bows for longer time,much more than with a calfskin glove.

There is neoprene between the leather and nylon. I take mine out because I shoot 45-52# bows. Love mine.

The neoprene is under the webbing on the stalls, like Benny said.  I believe it is just a strip of neoprene rubber and not the fabric coated neoprene like on the back of the glove.  At least, that is what I was told.

The Wetshot is all neopreme on the back. It comes in handy in the wet and rain.
