I had one wish I hadn't trade it now. There everything that all above have said about them.

Doc Pain

I've owned one of Don's bows for 20 years.  It's the only bow that I never would sell no matter how bad economic times got!
If it isn't life or death, it's no big deal.

cacciatore

Don is one of the most experienced bowyers in the country, his bows are very well made priced low but with top level performances you can't go wrong.

ohiodoeslayer,

Sounds to me like you have 2 of my bows lol.

The bow I pictured is a 60" 53# @ 28". I have a pair of 64" bows as well. A brown actionwood bow and one of his all Zebrawood bows with Zebra veneers. One is 56# and the other is 57#.

I had one of his camo actionwood bows that was 62" at one time. I sold it to a buddy in Tn. that I was trying to get into trad. He ended up going back to wheels though and sold it to a fellow down there. Wished I wold have kept it now.

Excellent Bows. Fair price. They are quite and fast. I shoot mine without silencers. Can't go wrong with them.

HOWITZER

I'll second and third everything said about an Assenheimer!  I own both models and believe they are on par if not better than any recurve made, and for the price WOW; half the price of most new bows!  Workmanship and customer service are fantastic, do I sound like a salesmen yet!

I had one and don't now only because that one particular bow was a little on the heavy side for me. Also I just like shooting longbows better. But as far as takedown recurves go you couldn't hardly do better. The quietest recurve I've ever shot. Very smooth draw. You couldn't deal with a better person than Don Assenheimer. If I ever buy another recurve it would be in my choice.

Don's finish is the best going....does anyone know what finish he's using?

rick7

i have owned many different bows and the assenheimer is the best of the lot and plan on buying another one soon

RonH

I own three of Don's bows now. I'm a fan of his 66 inch bow and old age has forced me to buy lighter limbs from Don. You can't go wrong with one of his bows. .................

DEATHMASTER

I guess you do not see used ones for sale because people hang on to them and, buy more of them.

You can make the arguement that Dons' bows are the best bows out there for the money,,super quiet, smooth, great finish and fast,,that's why you don't see hardly any for sale, once you have one you keep it,,,

I have had one for a couple of years now, I echo all said above, Lord willing I will never sell it.

love the backside of the limbs.  Nice finish!

Great bows, very reasonably priced,,one of the best grips you'll ever find  in a bow,,,super quiet,,very easy to tune,,underrated for their quickness if you're into that,,Don handpicks every piece of wood he uses. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he collaborated with Roger Rathhaar when he first got started.

wollelybugger

I own a 50 pounder and a 42 pounder and they both shoot great. They are great bows and not only shoot but is the best looking bows I have.
