This question may get a bit rambling (your fair warned!    )  The bow: RH 62" 52# @28" Bamboo Hummingbird Kingfisher.  I draw 28".  I'm a newbie here guys but am trying to shoot as much as possible indoors until spring. I first started shooting this bow in my basement using some left over Easton 2219's that I started with 15 years ago with a compound. with 145 grain field points these arrows consistently were angling hard to the right in the target. I thought there way to stiff of spine. So I dug up some more previously retired Easton 2315's with 125 grain tips. Still angled to the right. Put the 145 grain tips on the 2315's and it seems to be better but still not good. I know that more weight up front weakens spine. However, Easton's arrow chart says 2315's with 125 tips should be the ticket? I'm doubting this chart. I'm only shooting at 15 yards right now and am at the point in my traditional archery learning curve that I'm hitting consistently in a 8" circle but, I just don't think these arrows are the right ones to continue with. by saying that I mean it's my intentions to bare shaft tune in the Spring when I can get out side...Weather permitting. and would like to do this with the "right" arrow. After searching for days here on Trad Gang for info. my mind is now spinning. between aluminum inserts, brass inserts, heavy points and aluminum inserts, lighter points brass inserts, wood, carbon, aluminum arrows, feathers or vains....    :confused:    I'm contemplating buying some 2020's or 2018's and the "test kit" of field points from 3-Rivers but would sure like an opinion on which arrows others shoot with a similar set up. to narrow the learning curve and arrow purchases.

Personally I have always thought that Eastons chart was 1-2 spines to stiff. I would say you need to be in the 500 spine to 400 spine range depending on what point weight you want to shoot. Some guys have their heart set on a FOC heavy point weight and match the spined arrow to that. If you plan on shooting 125 grain heads I would say 500 spine, if heavier point weight 400 is where I'd start. Another benefit to carbon arrows is the spine will handle broader range of weights.

The 2219 and 2315 are the same spine only difference is the 2315 are lighter than the 2219. I had the same problem and I was shooting a 62" longbow and they were to stiff even with 170gr pt. as Bob has said go with a 400 spine and add the weight up front at least by 200-250gr use a 50gr brass insert and 150Gr point or heavier. Thats been my experince in the last couple of days.
