Well, today was kind of a special day and my parents took me to cabelas. I looked around and saw some cool stuff, my dad bought a rifle scope, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then my parents asked me if I wanted to try out some of the bows on the rack. I said no very firmly because I knew that no good could come from it. So then I went over to shoot a couple. I started out with a bear Supermag 48 and liked it a lot. Shot a while, shot the crap with the bow guy, had a good time. Then my mom asked if I wanted to try the martin Savannah that they had there. I said no, it was too nice of a bow and no good could come from it. So then when I was shooting the bow, I just couldn't get over how beautiful it was. Zebrawood, bubinga, the works. I had 6 blisters on my fingers, and my middle finger was numb, but I didn't care. It was smooth as butter. So when I was done, my parents asked which I liked. I thought it over and decided the Savannah was what I really liked. Then my mom told the guy she'd like to purchase one. So in the next 8-10 business days, I should be getting a 55# Martin Savannah in the mail. (Cabela's didn't have one in stock that was new.) I'm a little excited!!!  :saywhat:

I have to say, it's seemed like a very zippy bow to me. It was flingin them arrows down the range pretty nicely. They weren't the right spine and they were fletched with vanes too. I was WAY impressed...

Savannah's are a great bow.Fast, quiet, and not hard to look at.They will perform with the best of them.

mcgroundstalker

Very cool of you're parents to do that. I think you're going to love that Savannah. I purchased one in 2003 and it remains one of my favorites even though I now have several customs. Congrats.

savannah is a fine r/d longbow.  one trad ganger, todd hathaway, used his to win the longbow division of grueling muzzy shoot event last year.

A bow your parents give you is a treasure. Keep it always and enjoy it.

It's been about 4 hours and I'm already dying...

It was definetly a step up from my Martin X-150. The extra weight is nice. Bought some stuff myself today to make some arra's too. Just a jig and taper tool but I'm slowly getting there. I'm gonna do a gray stain(to match my soon to be Check Mate with graybark limbs) and a red crown dip with red barred feathers (to match the Savannah). I think they'll be a pretty nice little combo with a gray and red string...

The Savannah was the bow we raffed off at our last Trad only shoot. After the raffle several of us spent a few hours braking it in for the winner.

All I can say is "Will your mom and dad be up for
an adoption of a slitly used older kid fairly
well trained."

Give mom and dads a big hug and congrats on the bow...

They are beautes, haven't shot one but sure would like to, haven't heard a single bad comment about them ever. Hope you keep that smile for a long, long time.
