Greg, with all that mass up front I'm surprised you didn't need a broom handle.  What's the FOC on those??????

I think it's right at 30% if I remember correctly.  The more I shoot the EFOC the better I like it. I haven't really had the chance to check penetration on live game, yet, but the overall accuracy and flight with broadheads is superb.

I'd say 55/75 .

My setup/specs-
55#@26"(my draw) black widow longbow

400spine arrow(55/75) cut to 27.5"
100grn brass insert
200grn point =
594grain arrow with 23.6% foc &
39 ftlbs of kinetic energy
11grains of arrow, per pound of bow weight.

Re-measured my draw yesterday. I'm right at 28" The bow is close to being cut to center (JV Outback) and FF string. I would just call James and ask him but he just started tinkering with carbons. The 7595 had quite a WHUMP to it. 200 up front with the 50gr insert. Got a 5575 and cut it to 30" with a regular insert and 125gr field tip. Not bad. I also have some 145gr tips to try out.

What I'm TRYING to achieve is a tough semi-heavy arrow that I can readily build in this "Compound Devoted" town I live in.

Keep em' coming please. I'm starting to see a pattern. =0)

All towns are compound devoted. Chances are you will have to order most everything except maybe shafts.
Also if you are shooting an arrow with fletching on it, you won't learn much.

55/75 out of a 55lbs schafer, needed 300 grains up front to tune. found the 35/55 the proper spine for this bow weight.

I am in the same boat as fido dog I'm shooting a Zipper extreme with standard limbs 57@28 I bought GT 35/55 and cx heritage 250 I've never really did the FOC shot all the time with standard inserts. Just wandering if the 35/55 are going to be to weak since I'm not going to be able to put ant weight up front. I also have a 65" lb 56@28 cut to center at a 27 1/2 draw all arrows are cut to 29" long. Any suggestions?

From what y'all have said. I'm thinking 3555 at 29.5" with a 100gr insert and 145gr broadheads/tips. With nocks and fletching it should be right around 500gr. Around the target weight I was going for (I was going for about 525).

Cutting a carbon shaft sjhould be the last thing you do, not the first. Listen to Big Jim.

I know what ya mean about the Midland/Odessa area being compound oriented, I grew up in Big Spring.
But, there are alot of great sponsers here that you can get your stuff from and have it delivered to your door.
I would order some test shafts from Big Jim in different sizes that you think you will need and then test the bare shafts to see which ones work the best for you.
