I am thinking of trying out the ILF system. Has anyone had access to both the new Sky 17" riser and the Tradtech Titan riser?  If so, what are the differences and what were your opinions of each. Thanks

I am there also.  I am trying the TT Black Onyx riser with the Black Max limbs to start.   I like the look of the 15" deflexed riser.  I told myself for quite a while that it was not for me.  Riser and limbs will be here in a couple days.  We shall see.

When people talk about the Black Max limbs are they talking about the ones with Carbon or the regular ones?

The one's I have coming have carbon and hard rock maple.

I have alos been looking at ILF and from what I have seen so far  IMO the Sky 17" has the most tuneability as far as the bow it's self with the option of shooting off the shelf or raised rest with a plunger hole for either position it gives you an option that some of the others don't.

I saw the Sky riser at Denton Hill. It is a very nice piece of work. I think you woud like it.

I have not shot the Titan.I have shot the 17" Sky.I would be very surprised if someone was not happy with it.I was some what impressed with the vibration dampeners in the riser.I kind of thought it was probebly just abit of a gimick.Not so, they seem to help make a very quiet bow.When I shot it I was using some arrows that,frankly were probebly to light for the bow.Even with the very light arrows it remained quiet.I was shooting sky recurve limbs on it.As has already been stated,this riser has all the baces covered, and will adapt to any shooting style.

Haven't had a chance too handle the Sky but like what I see in the pics.  Reports from those that have them are very good.

If I was buying, I'd go with Sky.

Unless you want to wait for one of ours.

I have a Titan and couldn't be happier.  I've seen a few pictures of the 17" Sky and it looks pretty cool.  Other than price, I imagine it would all boil down to which one feels better in your hand.

The way I look at it, is that extra hundred bucks would just about buy you a set of the Black Max glass limbs.

I've owned a few Titans and have a 15" Sky(17" in the future). I gave some input on the revisions made to the generation 2 riser so am biased, but Jim has got it right all around. The Titan is a fine riser, but the Sky is worth the money if you are serious about the ILF route.

I read somewhere that TradTech is going to be offering the new SKY risers and limbs.  You might want to give them a call.  I know they do loaners sometimes, they might be doing the same with the new SKY.  

If you find out, let us know.  I might like to try it myself.

I have a Das riser with win win limbs and it is the smoothest quietest bow I have shot in a very long time- very adjustable.

One worry I have is when do you quit fiddling with all the adjustments and just shoot the bow.  I think I am too much of a perfectionist and would never settle on the settings.

It's easy.  You need about 25 risers and 40 sets of limbs like Rusty.  That way you can always fiddle and also have 5-6 shooting perfect.

When I first got mine I fiddled with it all the time.  Other than to switch limbs and check tiller, I very seldom ever mess with anything now.

For some reason, people think this whole ILF thing is rocket science.  Fiddle here, fiddle there, tweak this and tweak that.  It most certainly can be if you want it to because they are indeed very tunable. For the most part though it is just another 3 piece takedown with a connection system that allows many different options when it comes to limbs.

It can be as complicated AND as simple as you want it to be.
