Ok I was testing some new arrows(POC) and they were tailing left and wanted to put more weight up front I had 125 grain field points.I decided to measure the depth of the field point and the length of the taper and I had about little over an eighth of room.So I took some pellets from my pellet gun(3) and smashed them with pliers and used a screwdriver to push them to the front or the head.Heated them up and pushed again,put the head on my shaft and they fit great.Went out side and they flew awesome!Came in and did to a WW and the same results.This is a cheap(my favorite word)way to add some weight to your point.So if your bored give it a try.    :eek:    

you must be a lefty, 'tailing left' for a righty usually means weak spine, less up front weight ... ?  

however, higher foc is a GOOD thing!    :D

oh yeah, good idea on the pellets, i've done that too, way in the past, using mashed up bird shot.

Rob Im a right hander my shafts are 60-65# I shoot a Tembo 70#@31 and they fly better for me with more up front and for some reason it makes them really quiet.

I could be naturally backwards at least thats what my wife thinks...LOL

If it works, it works, but I must admit to being surprised at shooting such a light spine out of your bow. I shoot roughly 78# of Hill at 29", and use a 30" arrow with a 160 grain point, spined at 95/100#. But, if it works, it works! I'm glad you're having fun!

I do a similar trick, melt split shot sinkers in a blunt, let cool for a minute or 2, smack it a couple of times and out falls a tapered point weight. I've made them up to 30g and still have room for a good taper.

Same holds true for the screw in part of Zwickies before you epoxy them. If you don't want to heat the metal (melt the lead) you can try small shot like the stuff used for target loads.
