Well, I got off the phone with Dan Toelke a while ago ... put in my order for a 64" 48# @ 30" Whip, dark colored juniper verneer, boo and walnut cored with dark colored cocobolo riser and 2 strings, one for woodies and one for carbons.  Should be done in a little over a month.  I am pretty jacked.

Hey Mudd, how cool is that????  WAY!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.   :D

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Mudd

Hehehe!! Thanks Dave!! I needed that buddy.

Congratulations that is what wisconsin winters are for, playing with new bows -- have fun take in some shoots there are some good ones coming up in Wausau, thanks Jerry.

Sounds like a good one, I will be looking for the pics.

I have trouble waiting four days for a bow, I couldn't stand to order one that took a long time.  I can imagine your excitement 8^).  Make sure you take action photos when you get it.

D. Key

Great choice from a great Bowyer.  I had a Whip that was the most quiet bow I ever shot and deadly accurate with no shock at all.  I really regret selling it.

Best of luck with it.

Just a question, why a different string for woodies or carbons.  I shoot the same string for both without problem...  Is there a benifit from this that I am missing.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalms 3:3

Bob B.

Bornagainbowhunter,
Teh width of the serving is the issue.  For carbons, it is very loose for woodie nocks, and fatter for woodies can be too tight for carbon nocks.  Also, woodies may like to be nocked a bit higher on the string, so differet strings for different arrows.

Congrats Bob, Dan has made me a few bows, among them a T.D. Recurve and a 1 pc. Chinook that were Cocobolo/Juniper and they were beauties. I am waiting on a special D bow myself, it's nice that with Dan that's been 4 weeks or less. Be sure and post some pictures when you get her.

Bob B.

Jim, I read an e-mail from Dan this morning.  He cut out the Veneers yesterday, I only mailed my deposit yesterday, but he is working on it already!  Dan seems to be one heck of a guy!

Everything I have read about his bows makes me think I will love the way it shoots.  So, I am pretty excited.
