Can anyone tell me if an Abbott longbow is compatible with the low stretch string materials? The tips have overlays but I am not sure if I can use the newer string materials or if I must stay with Dacron. Thanks for any and all help.

Why chance blowing up your beautiful Abbott for 4 FPS?

I was shooting my Abbott today and love how it shoots with a Dacron string.

I agree here why risk and in addition the overlays look like wood to me in the picture. I say no FF no way on this bow. They also make more noise. Dont do it. Jim

DesertDude, do you have contact info for Steve? Last rumor I heard was that he was driving trucks or some such foolishness. I get requests for contact info when people see my Abbott bow.

I lost contact with him after he moved from the high desert. Hope he'll be at Chamberlin Ranch shoot this year.....

I've had several (still own one) and they are great little bows.  Nice to see that Steve is back in business.  And a 5-year warranty period!  How many bowyers today will give you that?

DesertDude

Glad to see Steve is back at it.

Glad to here Steve is back.
One of those bows I regret selling was an ABBOTT.

Shifting Shadow

I'm glad Steve is back making bows. He has learned his craft. Tight glue lines, fine shooting bows.
