I have been considering one of these for a long time.  I jsut can not seem to pull the pin.  Does any one have any opinions on this garment.  I will use it for hunting here is SW Wisconsin (5 below this morning).  But I may also take it when I run the timber in March ... at risk therapy back pack adventure with adjudicated youth, or in the Woodland Caribou Provincial Park on a solo canoe trip.

I welcome any thougths on this.

i can shoot my bow no problem in my big filson mackinaw cruiser.
They also last a long long time so money well spent in my opinion

come in to Rutebega in Madison (just off the beltline)  They are a dealer of Filson and may very well have one in stock.  Then you get to try it out for yourself  PLUS  might like the price PLUS you are spending money locally

I bought a Filson Yukon last year and it has become my favorite hunting coat.  It is warm, quiet and has plenty of pockets, it also looks really nice and can be worn anywhere.  I also have a double mac, but it is almost too heavy unless it is miserably cold out, so it doesn't get worn much.

Anything by Filson is top drawer in my opinion.  
 Their products have a long life span , very well made.

They are pricey but I thought worth it. Bought one before this season and love it. For temps in the teens I've combined longjohns, wool shirt, Filson jacket and wooltmate vest. Don't need armguard because jacket fits well in the forearm area. Warm and cozy.

I have one . It is a great coat.
However I would think that it would be a little light at 5 below zero.

Heh - has anyone ever talked to a Filson owner that didn't like his Filson stuff?  They make great gear.

I wear something made by Filson just about every day....actually, my belt is a Filson, so every day is accurate. Great stuff!

Filson also has great customer service, They stand by their gear. I wrote a letter once commenting on their awesome customer service. I have a waterfowl sweatwer on the way can't waite to try it out.

Use a double mac coat that I've had for 10yrs or so. It is heavy, but when it's cold I don't mind the weight. Gotta use an arm guard, though, as it's kinda bulky. I also use the bibs from cabelas, they are lined and make a good combo with the mac.

I find a Filson vest is a great way to keep the core warm.  A little pricey, but I saw a clearance sale and I got mine for 35% off.  I wear it all the time.

You can't go wrong with Filson.
