You know, I'm a lucky guy. I was working in the Lansing area, and I needed to stop by Ron LaClairs to pickup a shotgun I had left in camp. We sat for about an hour drinking coffee and BS'ing about this and that....I always enjoy listening to guys with REAL experience...and as I drove away, I thought "Damn, I'm lucky"

It was an enjoyable piece to an otherwise tough day.

And by the way, just standing in Rons place and looking at all the cool stuff was a blast. Thanks Ron. Good coffee.

You are a lucky guy.  I miss when I used to stop in for a visit going thru ShrewSouth.  I always tried to have apple pie with me   :D

Yea Roger, Rons place is better than alot of museums!

I grew up in Lansing, got to spend quite a bit of time at Ron's place. He taught me to throw knife and hawk in his backyard.

Goin to Ron's is the only thing I miss about living down there.

I go by there all the time in the summer. Did not know his shop was still open.
I usually drive right by his place on my way to Joe's Gizzard City!!
I will have to make it a point to stop by this summer.

I feel happier and better educated every time I talk to Ron. He is definitely one of our treasures. In some ways I wish we could clone him, but in other ways I relish his unique character that no one could ever successfully copy. He is one of a kind, and that kind is one of the best.

Hey Buddy, It was good to see you again. I'm glad I had something of yours so that you had to come see me to get it back..    :D   You know after you left I thought to myself how lucky I was to have such good friends. You and the rest of the guys that come to camp, Greg, Ray, Kevin and Tim are like brothers to me.

There's a quote I read somewhere I thing by George Washington,   "Surround yourself with men of good quality, for it's better to be alone than in bad company" When I'm with my friends I'm always in good company.
We live in the present, we dream of the future, but we learn eternal truths from the past

I would like to meet Ron one day. However my stomping grounds are many hundreds of miles from his. Alas, I may never have the honor. Lucky man Roger.

I love all the insight that Ron gives on this site.  He is a cool guy.  What I love most about Ron, is that he is a strong man that has no fear in showing his love and admiration for his wife!  For some reason that is not always cool these days.  My husband does the same for me and I love it!  What can I say?  I am a girl, so I tend to fall for the mushy stuff  :)
