Love it when the Legends come down off the pedestals we put them on! When I had an opportunity to talk to Glenn St. Charles he was just as down to earth as Fred Bear here in this clip. "Be your own Legend and get in the woods and enjoy it".
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-BOW in one hand-ARROWS in the other-Body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming-WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!

no one could say it any better!!fred bear was the man!!!  :notworthy:

difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

Perfect. I have seen this before and read things that he had said or written that were very similar. This is what hunting should always be like no matter how you do it. The people here on tradgang get that concept that is why I love it here.

Fred Bear you are the man.

How cool was this? Way!!! The message is one that needs to be repeated over and over until we get it.
What I boiled it down to was "It's the journey!"

Thanks for sharing that with us.
God bless,Mudd

Archery isn't something I do, it's who I am!
The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Ferrett,

That's the story you wrote about hunting with your dad put slightly differently but with the same fundamental truth.
Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons; people are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

He's right on, but honestly - who would expect anything less from a lifelong trad archer of his caliber?

Just finished watching the last video from my 4 DVD set Christmas present and I like Fred even more than I already did.  The man knew what he was talking about.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.
