We did our annual vacation picks at work today (FD). While I'm in the top 5 seniority on my shift, I still feel like I hit the lotto.

I somehow managed to get uninterrupted vacation from October 20- Nov 19 for 2010!!! A whole month of bowhunting time. I cannot believe it.

My plans are to plan a week out of state whitetail hunt, along with at least a week hunt camping/hunting on a somewhat remote island here at home. I have all winter to research and plan, and fine tune my camping gear.

I was not able to get the summer dates I wanted in the second round of picks, so I piled it on for fall. Should be a good practice run for when I retire in 2011.
...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

Retirement does take practice to learn to do it right!  Good to see you are going to get a chance.  Just don't wish your life away in the meantime!

Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

I can't take that much time off at once, but you do have my favorite week in that time slot! I always take the last week in October.

That is the next best thing to the lotto!
