Hi from snowy NH Been snowing for last 2 days got alot of practice in today(outdoor snow shooting) I think I'm off to great start, although I keep wanting to go back to the compound It is going to be hard to break old habits. After all the advice I am staying with the 40lber for now.Iam happy with it anyways it shoots very smooth and quiet. My next question is does anyone know were to get the best bargain on some feathers.I have alot of carbon arrows from the compound I would love to refletch in feathers Thanks Kevin

I went to 3R but I shot X weave 300 out of the wheelie and fletched them up and they shot terrible out of my longbow.so shoot a few with the plastic before you make the same mistake I made.My wheelie was set for light and fast arrows. That doesn't always work for trad equip.Good luck.   :banghead:

OK well I'll try to help. Personally I like 5 inch shield cut feathers. Left or right wing is a matter of preference unless your shooting a single bevel broadhead, then you want to match bevel to wing. More colors are available for left wing. You are probably not going to use the same shafts as your wheelie liked, just the facts of switching over I'm afraid.

Side note I'd get really bright ones for now, you'll be practicing in the snow and it's easy to loose your arrows. My wife shoots 5 inch shields in fluorescent pink, they glow through the snow and she seldom looses an arrow!
Just this Alaskan's opinion
