That is gorgeous, Bjorn!  And I'll actually be able to touch it.  Thanks so much for making the donation.  Rick

Bjorn, that is a great looking bow, to bad the arrow rest is on the wrong side.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Thanks for all the kind words. The PBS Youth Program is a wonderful cause-check it out!
Renaissance Man asked about the construction: this is a fairly classic John Strunk design-the belly has no bamboo and the limbs are a constant tapering 'D' shape from the grip all the way to the tips. It is a medium R/D and shoots whisper quiet, with very good cast. It was designed to be hunting weight, and finished up at 56#.
Adam and I took a bow making class from John and plan on going back for a refresher if we can get him off the golf course!

Very pretty bow!!!

Interesting tip overlays.  Any chance of a close up pic of them and some commentary too???
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Bjorn

The tip overlay can be made from cow or Bison horn-the appearence is identical; but Bison sounds way cool.
Cut on a band saw and flatten the underside by sanding. Rasp or sand the sides to the arrow shape. Use a chainsaw file for the cut outs along the edges and finish with sandpaper working up to 400 grit. The tough part is holding the O/L with your fingers as you are working.

The arrow shape O/L makes a classic final touch to the limb tips. It is like a John Strunk signature. Thanks for asking Dave.
Risto, my son and I make these bows for fun-any bow hunting in Finland?

Very sweet indeed.  Are you going to enter it the bowyers contest?  If not I think you should that is a real nice bow.

Keefer

Bjorn,  You did an excellent job on that bow...I really like the profile and it just looks like it draws smooth as silk...God Bless, Keefer's <")))><
