I am very interested in the fox breed bow, really like the grip and the quality craftmanship. I would like you guys opinion...impressions and some pics would be great. Thanks

Ron makes wonderful bows.Ron and Debbie are also awesome folks.The Breed is a interesting design.Longbow design with recurve limb.Those i know of that have one have always said good things.

Got a good friend that swears by his. Ron is one of the most reputable men in the business. I do like the classic looking design of the Breed. I also can tell you that Mr. Fox wouldn't have trusted his business to just anyone. That in itself says a lot for Ron and Debbie. Good choice.

I really like the design, I have or had one I got from a guy here (Backquiver, great deal and good guy to deal with) and got to shoot it a few times before my son got a hold of it,and fell for it so thats what he got for Christmas...so I'm considering another one but I havent a whole lot about them and have not seen any more come up in the adds, may have to call Ron, thanks guys for your responces.

They are sweet bows,more like a 50's style recurve.I like this style because it has a longbow style grip which I prefer.Ron makes a quality bow fit and finish,and they are excellent shooting bows.

I've got 2 LH Breeds, 1 62" 45lb and 1 62" 58lb takedown, beautiful bows and great craftmanship.  Ron and Debbie are very good to work with.

Shot one at Boise a few years ago----didn't want to put it down. The only bow that I liked better was the Sheepeater spirit bow...

csimpson, how do you like the takedown system Ron uses, is it solid? is the shape or feel of the takedown grip different from the one piece?

Ron uses a sleeve. It is a good, time proven system. The only thing I can say about the sleeve is that "it is what it is". I would rather have a monoblock 4dogs. Ron can sculpt a grip for you, but the sleeve is what you get.

The takedown system is the sleeve which pulls apart at the handle.  It makes the bow heavier in mass weight, the grip shape and feel of the grip is the same as on the one piece.  I really like the 2 piece takedown.

Brent, you will have to excuse my ignorence, but are you saying the sleeve dictates the shape of the grip and it will be different than his one piece? By monoblock do you mean one piece of wood in the riser or is that a different type of take down system....Thanks

Sorry bud, the sleeve is kinda egg shaped cross section and straight. The monoblock (one piece bow) is a wood handle that can but cut to your grip requirements.

Great bows. I picked up one about 8 months ago from fellow tradganger and it's as good as any recurve I've ever shot. Also looks great.

Does anyone have a good idea how the grip of the breed compares to a mojo stick? they look to be very close but hard to tell unless you have handled both...thanks

They are not the same. The breed has an offset grip that is difficult to describe. For a righty, it has a bit of a swell on the left hand side that fills in the palm, and is sculpted on the right. To look at the grip from the back (lace side) there is a pronounced curve. The TD Breed has far less of this due to the sleeve. This not necessarily bad, some guys prefer it more straight.

There is the buddy I was telling you about 4dogs. Bear is the resident expert on matters of the Breed.

I also bought one a few months ago from a fellow Trad-Ganger and love mine. I really like the grip and it really flings an arrow, considering it is only 48# @ 28" and I draw about 27".  I wish it were a takedown but it is what it is...

Mine is Cocobolo and Yew limbs, too.  A great combination.
