What material have you found that works the best? I'm going to try one out and I'd like to get educated. Tony from 3 tree strings, I understand is making them. That's who has made all my other strings. Very happy with his work.

hey cavetroll, any of the fast flight or synthetics are good candidates. Tony would likely lead you in the right direction. Padded loops are a good idea. I use FF 11 strand, but have used 9, both good and noticeable drop in vibration on my longbows. I haven't experimented with this on my curve. It really just doesn't need any adjustments and I am a bit afraid of the slap on the limbs. Just seems rough on a bow. A lot of people are doing it though.

I'll probably be working the next two day's due to the snow. I'll call Tony on Saturday. D97 just keeps stretching so I'll see what Tony say's about 450+.

Stephen, like Matt says all the modern synthetics are good. It's like bows and arrows, alot of choices and everyone has an oppinion!

I like F.F., D-97, and 450+. All are made with similar blends but just differences in diamaters and such. Merchandising, in my opinion!

I like simplicity, plain and simple! Tony will steer you right. And others will chime in with their choices, I'm sure of it!

I'm using D-97 with padded loops for my skinny strings and am also using the Bow Hush for added padding and my recurve is deathly quiet!

My only gripe with the skinny strings is I haven't had good luck with the serving and nock point staying tight----- as the string stretches over time and I twist to maintain brace height, the serving gets loose and starts causing my nock point to slip.  I've tried dotting super glue on the ends but it only held for a little longer.
I never had that problem with the thicker strings........

Well having tried FF, D97 I'm using Ultra Cam. Love it!

I have been using D97 and 450+ for my skinny strings.Just picked up some 8125 to make some skinner strings.They have been working great and seem quieter also.

my expierence is very little....but so far I've built a 8strand dyna padded the loops with b50 on a 60lb bow and it's working great.  I did stretch a ton initially however it's seem to have settled out.  Super quiet string!

I like 452x myself

I'd stay away from TS+, D97, and FF.  Ultracam, Xcel, 452x, and 450+ are more stable materials.

I like d-97 myself.I shoot lighter weight bows so don't seem to have the issues some speak of with brace height however.Once my 6 or 8 strand strings settle in they don't change any more that fatter strings.

There is a wealth of experience here to draw from. Passthru, gave me the list of materials that have worked for him. 450+ is in his list.

The ones I padded with B50 did that too. I just pad with D97 now and they seem to settle quicker. No doubt about the quiet part though!

The D97 that I have on my Arctic Fox. It stretched and then stretched some more. About a month of shooting before it did settle in. With this bow I know instantly at release when the brace has dropped below 7 1/4. Just a nat's hair under that measurement. Noise and hand shock.

I have tried a few differant materials and have fornd Ultra Cam to work best for me
