I got a deer target problem the arrows are incredibly hard to pull out... i have a smal crack in one of my brand new arrows now. Any body have any tips? thanks alot

What kind of target? Are you shooting outside? What is the temperature? When it gets cold 3d targets can be real tough to get arrows out of.

Are you using carbon arrow?

thats the problem im out side probably 30 to 32 degrees shooting some cedars ... have to wait till the sun comes out and it warms up

I shoot 3D alot the best thing I found that doesn't make a mess is to rub some ivory soap on arrow shafts. Down by tip ends this works and doesn't get on everything they touch. Like the lube they sell for 3D shooting.

The crack is probabaly in the the clear coat on the shaft. It happens, as long it is not the wood of the shaft that is cracked you can still shoot the arrow.

3-D target arrows are harder to pull the farther away you get from the 10 ring.  Outside the 8 ring they get downright stubborn and anywhere in the leg, neck, head or butt...well forget about it.  So of course the standard TradGang response on this subject is 'My 3-D arrows always pull out real easy."

So, still having any problems with yours?      

Yes but i believe its because the cold. I just am shooting some old carbons i dont use they pull out just fine

I use tire gel on all my arrows. It seems to help a lot. I got the idea from Masters of the Barebow. I can't recall which one but one of those Wenzel twins suggested it. I can't remember which one of them either. I think it was the good looking one, lol!

I know that my daughter will sometimes not be paying close attention and she thinks she's pulling straight out when she's actually pulling slightly up at the same time. It can be hard on arrows.   I'm just saying...

Get some woodys arrow lube and all your problems will be solved. that is the best stuff ive found.

Ames makes a 40"x40" Pillow Target that is burlap and you stuff with shrink wrap from any major store's trash heap.

Arrows pull w/ 2 fingers... regardless of temps.

Has a life sized deer on both sides...fill bag with plastic wrap and shoot till your heart's content. Brass gromets in all corners allow it to be hung and staked. I just drag mine outside when I shoot to avoid it filling with rain /snow and bring back inside when done.

Cheaper 3D targets don't last as long, but pull easier.  I gave up on McKinzey HD's. Man can throw out his back on them buggars. Rinehearts pull easy regardless of temps it seems... but I've not shot em in dead stone cold below freezing weather I guess...

You're probly pulling your bow string back to far.

could it be a indentation on the shaft from gettin too close?  When I used wood back in the day, I would shoot with a good compound buddy, man was head deadly on my wood.  Finally they got indented too bad that they shattered in my hands when I shot the bow, scared the crap out of me, that is when I gave up on wood!

Try string wax on your arrows and remember to rotate them 180-360 degress before pulling!
