I just received my second order of strings from SBD Bowstrings.  I received the first ones just prior to leaving on a deer hunt to Texas a couple weeks ago.  I strung a new Border Black Douglas with one of them just before I left.  I didn't have time to tune the bow, but I wanted to see how much creep would occur while I was gone.  These strings are six strands D-97, so I expected to have a good deal of creep.  To my amazement, there was none! Since I have been back, I have shot the new bow every other day, and there is still virtually none.  I have used strings with six strands of D-97 from other makers for a year or so, so strand count wasn't a change.  The new SBD's do shoot beautifully.  Also, the strings are absolutely clean and free of any frayed ends or excess material.  The serving is perfect for the Bohning  Signature nocks I use.  The strings I received today went on my ACS-CX's, and they look just as great as the first pair.  They are without a doubt the best quality strings I have ever seen, and SBD's service is outstanding.  Thanks, Pierre!

I don't know much about these skinny strings. What is done around the servings and loops to thicken them up?

I ordered a string on a Saturday evening. Didn't hear anything back from him the next week and was wondering if the payment went thru all right. There it was in the mailbox on Friday. Best string I ever used. I had just a little stretch at first and hasn't moved since. I'm ordering two more shortly.

Mine were sent out before my money order payment got there, which says something about wanting to serve the customer.
They should get to me next week and according to Pierre, will be the first SBDs sent to Alaska!! (Finally, first at something!  :)  )

I just got my two strings today, very nice work. The Psycho Hunter with orange catwhiskers is an eyecatcher for sure. I requested the whiskers on them, and here added some brushbuttons and yarn wrap where they hit the string grooves, and now they sound like this:

                                           .  :D
I set the nock points and fiddled around with the brace height and was in business, with a backup.
I don't have a chronograph, but the time interval from release to target impact seems shorter...hard to say, the bow (Predator) was fast already.
I shot some heavier 600grn arrows and some 470grn arrows and the difference in impact was less than I was used to. I want to check this out at some longer ranges, I was just in my shop (40ft) today. Curious if others have noticed this?
I'm pleased.
Good job, Pierre!

I have a couple of their strings. Great workmanship and the strings are very quiet -- SPOOKY quiet. Also, SBD is a great outfit to deal with -- honest, straightforward people.

Customer service with them is top notch.  I just received a new string from them, free of charge, due to a mistake I made.  Great people to deal with!

arky714,

My Black Douglas is a Super Swift 64" with Sid's new Hex-5 H Mk II limbs.  It is 49#@29.5". I have also been shooting six-strand D-97 strings for nine months or so on my DAS Kinetics and my ACS-CX's with no problems.  They are all the same weight or lighter. I will say, though, that the small strings seem to be more prone to wear in the field, which stands to reason.  I think you just have to be more careful and carry a couple spares.
