Yep, 1954 and looks like a deflex reflex to me. So what's new??

If memory serves me correctly, they called them semi-recurves back in the day. So really, what's new is the name, lol!

Other than the materials, there really aren't all that many changes one can make to the stick and string.

I had a Bear Cub that was about the same design. They were great shooting old bows, but they would thump you rather smartly (hand-shock...oh, my!). That probably had more to do with the fat dacron strings than the bow itself. My Mahaska is pretty similar in design and switching to a padded loop 8 strand D97 took all of the shock out of that one.

QuoteBut I was wondering, Jerry, when you laid the carbon arrow on the rest...did the bow make a funny little sound or shiver just a little?
No it didn't shiver or anything but I thought I heard it say "Hey Grizzly" watch this.
I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Nice Bow! and a lefty! I am looking at a matched set of Hoyt Huntmasters custom that are beautiful. I love all the old bows

You just gotta love this stuff!!

Hey 30, I still have one of those old Bear Cub's. If you haven't been to the dentist for a while, it will definately shake a few fillings loose.

I've also made quite a few 8 strand D-97 strings lately with padded loops and they really make an old bow sing a new tune.

I love the elderly bows!!!

I have an old Ben Pearson Rogue that I just love.

Who needs training wheels, give me a stick and a string any day.

May Thors Hammer ring in your favor!
