I have always loved green glass on bows. Green glass has not been available for quite some time. The last bow I know of with green glass was the 1999 Howard Hill Centennial bow, which was green on the back and white on the belly. (I am happy to say that I have one!)Other than that, green glass has become a relic of another time, primarily associated with vintage Bear bows.

It all depends on the bow.  I do like green glass on some bows but on others not so much.

WESTBROOK

Steve Turay at Northern Mist is getting some green glass for his bows, I believe him a Jerry Brumm went in and got a bunch made. He had some color samples at the GLLI and it should look nice. I like green and brown glass myself.

for me clear glass over...just about anything is hard to beat.

Ghost,

Would you mind posting a couple of photos of that Hill with the green glass? If you happen to have a few of them filed......Thanks

Irish, I have taken pictures of that Hill Centennial, but it looks black in a picture.

JimB, that is a beautiful Bear! What model is it?

This old Tri-State Jaguar has woven, Pantherglass, and it looks pretty good.

The old Hoyt Pro Medalist Super Hunter had forest green glass and was very nice.  Frankly, I'm not a big fan of clear glass, I would just as soon have black, gray or green.

Fishnhunt

Beautiful bow! Green glass is by far my favorite. It just love how old school it looks.

Shaun

My favorite glass color is the orange on 59 Bear Kodiak. Some of the pastel greens on other old Bears is swell too.

Here's a bit of green glass on an Indian Archery recurve

I've got a 1962 KS with mint green glass. And a 1962 Cub with kind of a olive color glass on the back and white on the belly.

Gapmaster

I love the green glass. I also had an old Bear that had orange glass that looked really cool. It's to bad you do not see it available more often.  :)

I have a John McDonald BigRiver Hill-style longbow with dark green glass.  It is very dark (almost black) and classy looking.  There is just something classy and vintage-looking to some of the colored glass.  I do love clear glass with a nice veneer underneath but would much rather have a nice colored-glass bow than a beautiful veneered clear glass bow with the nasty looking streaks in the clear glass.

marlon

Yes green glass is nice. My 150# Bobby loften recurve had green glass. Marlon
