I got a package yesterday, from Karl Andersen.  He is a knife maker and a Sponsor here on tradgang.

When my mail lady brought it to the door the first thing I saw was the wooden box.  I knew right away that it was my new knife.  I had read several posts that described the wooden box Karl ships his knives in.  However, you can not fully appreciate it until you see it and try to open it for yourself.

After I started trying to open it, a half hour later I finally had the knife out.

When I finally got the knife in my hand, it made me feel like a kid again.  It is a true work of art. Here is a link to it on so you can see it for yourselves.  Karl is truly amazing at what he does!!!!!!

Tradgang Link to the pictures of the knife Karl made for me.

Thank you so much again, Karl!!!!!  It is truly a magnificent piece of functional art.

I also wanted to tell everyone that the Hunting Knife and Crafters Forum is a great place to hang out.  The guys over there are making hunting knives that are every bit as nice as our bows.
I think everyone who loves to hunt owes it to himself or herself, to own a beautiful handmade knife.
What would you attempt to do, if you knew you could not fail?

Never leave the one you love, for the one you like.

Bryan was a great customer to work with and I had a couple of firsts on this knife.
It was the first time I have used Kingwood and the first time I've used bronze for a guard.
Now it just needs to get used!!
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Joe,
I don't have any pics of it myself.  I should have taken some though.  I will see if I can't find a thread with a pic of it.  LOL it is something else to try to get into.
First you think it will be a piece of cake to get into at first.
However, by the time you have finely gotten into it,you have almost resorted to chewing into it.

Joe,
Here is the link to the wooden box.  It looks like this gentleman had a lot easier time than I did.
