It won't let me post a bow for sale? Anybody else have this problem?
Is it too late to be what I could have been?

Just click on the big red banner that says New rules, on the Trad bow forum.

That's strange..
According to the new rules, there's no reason why you shouldn't..
But try and read the updated rules, and if not, write to the admins  :)
After all, you've been here 6 years^^
Most likely just an error in new rules update..

I think it's if you have had 100 posts other than classifieds with in a year?

John,

Since the new rules have come in effect, You have to email the mods for permission to post an ad on the bow classifieds. Once you obtain the go ahead, you won't have to ask again. Just another form of checks and balances. May seem superficial but in the long run it will help protect those using the forum.

wingnut

yep everyone has to do the permission thing once.

Either that or the bow really doesn't want to leave and is working with your computer too stay.

John,

Just shoot Rob an email. As long as you've been around here, it won't be a problem. As has been said, this is a one-time thing. I think it's a good idea. It helps protect all of us from scammers and it's not much of an inconvenience. Rob got back to me pretty quickly, even though I told him I don't plan to sell one right away.

I'll probably never make the cut for using the Classifieds. I've been a member here for a long time. I read the threads but I just don't have that much to say. I'm only posting at this time to rack up another post.  :o ) Clint

Clint,

You have twice as many posts as you need already, unless most of them were in the classified section.

30coupe, I thought I had to post 100 times a year. Maybe I'm more talkative than I thought.

I'm not a big talker, but i enjoy the site. Typing's not my bag.

The mods just want to make sure your purpose here is discussing traditional hunting/archery rather than selling stuff. It's nice to be able to sell and/or trade with guys who are into the sport instead of those who just want to make a quick buck (perhaps unethically or illegally) from those of us who do.

I've kind of lost count of the bows I've bought or traded here, but I haven't managed to make any money yet (my wife would second that statement). I don't care. It's just a way for me to try some really nice bows without the long wait for a custom or the big bucks either.

30coupe, I just figured out what you were referring to. I think my 205 posts is my all-time post total. It's looks like I've only posted 50 or so times during 2009 - mostly on PowWow & very few on the Classifieds. I'll proabably never make 100 posts/year because I divide my computer time between here and that other traditional archery community site that got started before TradGang. Clint aka Uncle Lijiah

Im with you i am on here almost every day. I just don't post a lot no one wants to read my miss spelled posts   :readit:
As for the classified thing well if it stops good people from getting jerked around i am for it.

Over&Under

I could be mistaken,  but I don't think it says anything about WHERE your posts must be, or how many you do per year, just that you HAVE 100 or more, and then email for permission.

From what I can tell the only exclusion with regards to where or what you post is related to excessive "TTT" or other post simply designed to get that post count over 100.

I'm like a few others, regular visitor but not a regular contributor to the discussion. I have always been of the opinion that on web boards you should only post when you have something relevant and decent to add.

Not that I have a problem with the rules, anything that makes people more confident that they are dealing with somebody genuine is great.

maxwell

It's cool, in the long run it might be less hassels for everyone.
