My wife and wheelie buds think I'm nuts! My matthews compound is on that auction site being sold.So now it's me and my martin savannah.I've been dabbling with my stick bows a couple yrs now but not really confident enough to hunt with them.I have no regrets selling my mechanical shooting device. Now I have to really focus.

LKH

Shoot the first legal critter you can.  You'll have fun.

Nothing focuses the mind like losing the safety net. Stick with it and have fun

You'll be happier as a person, you'll feel more accomplishment, more humility and a respect for life and death people using machines tend to miss.

Enjoy every shot!

That great I made the switch last years and my only regret is that I did not make the switch earlier.

Best move you can make.  I always went back to my crutch right before the season...

I did the exact same thing this year and dont regret it one bit.  Sold my Mathews late summer and own 3 longbows and 2 recurves now.  I cant wait for the gun season's to wind down so I can get back out and pester some squirrels and rabbits!!

rp65

Since I switch to recurve I've never looked back. Both my boys use compounds and all but one of my hunting friends use compounds. I say shoot what you like. I shoot my set up for my reasons and they shoot there's for what they like. For myself its about HOW I shoot not WHAT I shoot or what the newest and fastest thing every year, now I found a bow that feels good in my hands and hits where I'm looking. I did go through about four recurves, buying and selling to find what I now use. I'm now thinking this is what I will use for many more years to come, and I'm happy with that thought.
