My average build 12 y/o son was shooting 46 @ 28, but felt over bow dropping to 36 @ 28. He was wondering what other kids around his age are shooting.

My son is 11 and he shoot's a 40 @ 28" but he's only pulling about 23" so somwhere around 30# I would say! Jason

Our son is 11 and he switches back and forth between 25 and 35#. If he is shooting bad, he grabs his 25# Alaskan. If he's doing pretty good he will use his 35# Darton. He has a 40#, but just isnt comfortable with it yet.....Roy

I shot 30,35, and then 40# at 11 years old. Back then (1954) we were a lot more physically active then kids today. Most eleven years olds today want 25-35#. Important thing is not to overbow them.

I'm 14 and shoot 45. I'm getting a Check Mate raven shortly after christmas and that's gonna be around 50. I'm gonna try building a bow this winter and I'm shooting for 50 or 55. After I got the basics down, 45 became a little on the light side. I'd like a heavier arrow at a better speed.

My 9 year old is shooting 31#@28. He has been shooting for as long as he's been able to.
