.......Would you buy a new bow, or use it go on a nice hunt?

The reason I ask is that I'm blown away at how many guys here buy bow after bow after bow....instead of say, as an example.... buy a plane ticket to FL. or TX. and go hog hunting for a few days. Same $$ spent....

Is it about time off? Having another bow on your rack?  I know for some it's feeding an addiction.

Is it that you're satisfied just hunting around home and lack of desire to hunt elsewhere?

I think if more guys would get together and go somewhere to actually hunt....they'd realize what they're missing out on.....

Lets talk......

I'd be using it for a trip to KS next fall! How bout you Curt?
I would have to agree withthe addiction of buying bows for some. I'd rather hunt, especially since our season is short and early. But to each there own.

I never spent 1K on a bow yet, and got a bunch...I just taked to a friend about a self guided Elk hunt in Co......for about $1000. I may be going west!! That would be much more meaningful to me than another bow.....

I would enjoy some hunting away from home I`m sure. I have always wanted to go West and my Buddy Jeff Holchin keeps that alive in me. But in all honesty I hunt these South Ga. swamps ,not because I have too but because I want to. Gods country!!!

I do enjoy bow swapping and just shooting new bows but If I had a 1000 extra bucks to spend on hunting I`d try to make that Texas hunt with you fellers coming up. I know theres gonna be some blood on the dirt there.RC

I would buy a couple good old bears for half and use the other half to go on a decent hunt somewhere thats not over priced like maryland or something.

GO HUNTING with family or friends. the memories will be priceless. I'm heading to FL for a hog hunt with a couple other trad buddies on Jan 10th. bows come and bows go BUT, memories last forever.

good post Guru

I have never spent that much on a bow either. I only have 3. One short (48") recurve for my turkey blind, one BW that I bought recently on here, and a Zipper that I will be selling as soon as I figure out what I need for it.

I've been on several out of state hunts (Canada, Montana, Colorado)and may go on a few more before I get too old.

Long story short... my money will go toward hunts... not more bows.

...gotta go with a nice pig hunt somewhere....got plenty of bows and more arrows and broadheads than I can count...been hunting in three states this year, MD,PA, and OH...leaving for 2 weeks in OH in the morning...getting later in the season, time to get less picky. ...But always ready to try somewhere new....

Doesn't necessarily have to be $1000 fellas...that's just a number I threw out there....

Hunt, but some folks have the dough to do both but not me  :(  .

I'd love to chase them long legged Osceola's down in the Florida swamps.

I'd go with the bow.  Spare $1K bills don't come easy around here.  Here's my justification:

The memories from a from say, a three-day, out-of-state hunt may last a lifetime, but the tangible part lasts -- you guessed it -- three days.

That new bow will probably last a lifetime, and may even get used on a "hunt of a lifetime" someday when I have more time and money to do it...  It definintly will get used around home!!!

Just too many nice bows out there I haven't owned or even shot yet!  I'd love to have the money to do both, but for now, I'll keep sorting through the bows I hope to travel with after I retire.

Curt- If i had $1000 to blow and could do a hunt with it, I would !!!

My wife makes me sell a bow before I can buy a bow, so I'm always at the same number (which happens to be 1).

I'd like to do a mule deer or antelope hunt out west, but hunting home in Iowa is fun too!

I would like a new bow for myself,a $1000 can buy a nice bow.

Go hunt!  I have more than enough bows. Seeing other parts of the world is worth any amount of money.

I'd put it in the bank LOL.

However, between the two I'd choose a hunt.  Bows are great, but hunts are where memories are made.

Heck I could hunt Kauai another time in the year if I had a thousand bucks!
