My long time girlfriend trys. She got me a nice no flash cuddeback. She got it at a flea market for 100.oo $.Which is a deal. They go for 400.oo
Trouble is she did'nt know it had theft stop on it.
My question is there any way to deleat the code and put my new one in it.Or can I just throw it away.Which I don't want to do.
They really don't give you any answers on there web site.

Defeating the code will likely be impossible-it was designed to be that way, and the web-site won't help you. But more importantly it may well have been stolen, and that means it is not a good thing to have in your possession.

You can send it in to cudde and the original owners information will be stored in the camera,Maybe. When you set the camera up, you can enter info that is stored int he camera and is shown on your pictures.Date, time, your name...ect,ect,ect...

Send it back and maybe they can return it to the owner. its most likely stolen.get some good carma out of it!

Neat security feature, but if there is any question as to the ownership of the unit, given the $100 she's out, I'd report it to the police AND Cuddeback company and if the company or the police say it's stolen, they will persue it on their end.  You may still be out the purchase price, but if it doesn't come up stolen and Cudde doesn't have any information that it was, along with the filed police report you will have, they might fix you up.

I agree, the camera may have been stolen. It seems like the original owner would have cleaned the memory if he was getting rid of it.

It has a password, and likely has the guys name and phone number programmed in it.  By sending it in to Non-Typical, they can retrieve the information and notify the person who entered that information. Without that personal password, there's no way to get into the unit change codes.

You can call Non-Typical and tell them the situation. Do you have any kind of sales receipt from when she bought it? If it was stolen, they will most likely send the unit back to the owner.

Not sure what I'd do, hate to get labeled a thief if it was stolen.

Good luck!

Ron,

Thanks for the backup.  :)   Thing is that if there is someone selling questionable property, then the police need to be involved as well in my book.

Course, some irate soon-to-be ex-wife could've unloaded all her erstwhile hubby's gear for spite and thus purchased at a yard sale by a flea market vendor, etc... ergo the uncleared memory.

Regardless, it's apparently useless as is, so if I'm going to be out $100, somebody is going to have to do some explaining to the cops if it was indeed stolen.  If it's not a legitimate source to the flea market vendor... then let THEM explain it to the authorities.

I wouldn't relinquish the unit, just the serial # to the company. If there is theft involved, the cops will need it for a time should prosecution occur or be warranted.
