Was wondering if anybody paper tunes there bow.Is it a must or just bare shaft tuneing. New to the sport. I'am shooting a longbow 66" 50#@28 draw. Arrows 29.5 Carbon Express 150 with 145 grain field point. Tried to paper tune. Tearing to the left, right hand shooter.Any recommendations. My draw is 28.

If you go to Elite arrows website ( in the sponsor list up top)and click on proper arrow it has a good amount of info on the paper tuning and what it means.and how to fix tearing to nock problems.

difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

Thank you, I will check out the website.

John,

I've found that after I bareshaft tune and fine tune with broadheads, when I shoot thru paper, I get just about a perfect tear...I bet they are pretty interchangeable.

I would stick to bare shaft to fletched tuning.  I find it easier to get great flight and proper spine this way.

Thanks, For everyones help. I talked with Mark from Hornes archery. He told me the same thing forget paper tuning and just bare shaft tune to find the right spine.
