I have a 66" Black Hawk longbow.  How long should I make the string for this bow.  I will build it out of B-50.  Any information is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Three inches shorter than the nock to nock length across the belly.  The twist it to brace.
It's really easy to figure string length.

Thanks for the info!  I hunted in Manns Choice more than a few times.  I believe the area was called Wills Mt.  The owner of the property delivered oil or propane for a living can't remember his name.

AMO says 3" shorter, but it depends on the bow and how you like the brace height.  I've seen longbow strings vary from 1.5" to 4" shorter than the AMO bow length.

3" shorter is a good starting point though.

Best I recall, the Black Hawk is a mild r/d? If so, I would also think 3" shorter is a good place to start.
