Anyone have any pics of what they do to their Snuffer pointy tips. I have heard of people rounding them etc. To beef them up and prevent curling. I would love to see some pics of your "Snuffer improved".
Thanks

I think you have the Snuffer confused with the Woodsman.

Snuffers need no tip work...Woodsmans tips need to be "pyramid'd" a bit....some prefer the needle tip though....

I agree with Curt..........Snuffers are perfect the way they are no need to modify.

No I dont have them confused. I thought people out there got rid of the needle tip?

I mod. my snuffer tips by turning the snuffer end to end and gentely backstroke the tip at a 30 degree angle and rotate it to each side per stroke.

I modify my Snuffer tips and put a pyramid on them. As already said, not really needed, but a little extra insurance you might say. I've buried them into trees with no ill effects to the tip. I'm at work but I'll post some pics tonight. I just use my grinder to modify them before I sharpen them.
