While awaiting supplies to build a bow for Rick, I decided to build one for myself. This "Ossabaw" model has been my most popular since I started building it, and I don't have one personally to showcase at all the hunts I go on.  Anyway, I had this beautiful wood and lams and decided to try them together.  I think it's simple but elegant.  This is the first non-laminated riser I have built.  I think the ebony will hold up fine though.  I plan to build the riser and tip overlays out of the asian ebony as well.  What do you folks think?

Looks great to me, I have a bow with cherry lams and they look even after 12 years. Should be real nice.

real nice, what we really need are some more pics.

Here you go Matt!

Here are a couple for today.  I'm trying really hard to finish her in time for a hunt on Thursday!  I was shooting her this morning!

The riser will get quite a bit darker when finished.  I'm liking the colors alot.

I really like the dark/light contrast...would also look great in a Cumberland!

Do you have enough left to make one?

No, but I know where to buy more.  It's expensive though!  This piece was 2X2X18 and cost me $44.

Real nice!  thats actually a good price for that nice a piece of wood.

looking fwd. to the finished pics.

Lamey I was just thinking the same thing, try getting a piece of bee's wing Nara that size......you'll have a whole new appreciation for your $44 riser block.
Just this Alaskan's opinion

Apex Predator

I'm not saying it's not a good price, but I normally use $10-20 woods.  :)

That's a beauty Evith!  I really like the contrast between the ebony and cherry.  I'd bet cocobolo and ebony would look pretty sweet as well.  Thanks for sharing the bow with us!  MG
