Hey Gang
I inherited two American Archery Cheetah Supreme recurves.
One is 58 inches and has written on it 65 lbs.
The other is 64 inches and doesn't have a weight on it.  How can I find out what the draw weight would be for me?  I draw ~29.5 inches.
Should I not draw the 58 inch bow since I have a 29.5 in. draw?
Thanks in advance.

If you don't have a scale take it to your local archery shop and they can measure the weight out to at least 28 since that's the standard of measure. I'd say being 64 inches drawing it to 29.5 isn't going to create a problem for the bow.

Thanks for the reply, I was more worried about drawing the 58 inch bow.

Find a local archery shop, preferably one that knows about traditional bows.  Do they have strings and are you sure which string goes with which bow?  If the strings look really old and questionable then best to go to a shop and get some new ones.  An archery shop should have a bow scale to measure draw weight at different lengths.  If you don't have a shop nearby, there is a homemade way to measure draw weight on a bathroom scale described in the Bowyer's Bibles.  You can likely draw the 58" bow to 29.5".  If it starts stacking on you before you reach full draw I would stop at that point and not keep pulling farther.

Cool.  Thanks for the info to you both.
