Brian, a number of dealers sell cordovan tabs including ourselves. Do you shoot split fingers or three under?

Greg Skinner

Screaming Eagle still sells them.  That is all I've used for years (Since Brunner's recommendation) - and yes, I bought some extras just in case they are no longer available.

And in the end of our exploring we shall return to the place where we started and know that place for the first time.

Brian, 3Rivers sells the Bateman cordovan tab for split-finger shooters.  It also comes with the rubber finger spacer on the back.  It's a great tab, wears forever, and priced very reaasonable.  You can also get them from The Nocking Point (IIRC) and Bateman has a website.  I think price on Bateman's site is actually a litte more than 3Rivers...

I bought one, a cordovan 3 under model I liked for $15 and than I bought a piece of scrap cordovan for $20, used the bought tab for a pattern, traced it with a sharpie then cut them out with the scissors on my leatherman.  I got 7 tabs out of a $20 piece of leather.  You could do the same with your old tab.

Tried a couple of differnt tabs like the one sold at Alaska bow hunting supply the Skookum with the cordovan face,I have two now that I'am using Cavalier elite tab wih the cordovan face it has a finger spacer for split finger and a ledge for a thumb rest and the other one is a Soma Saker 1 it is also cordovan face with finger spacer and ledge but it also has a rest for the little finger(like a trigger) and my shooting has improved 100% , bought the tabs fom Tradtech a section of Lancaster archery supply

I second the Bateman tab from The Nocking Point.  I really like the elastic finger loop.

As a backup, I carry a Neet cordovan tab of the traditional style, (no spacer, split finger and just a hole for your finger) in my wallet and I've actually had to use it more than once to save a hunt.

My advice is when you find a brand you like, buy 3 or 4 of them and put them away.  You can't hardly wear a cordovan tab out but they can be lost...

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I use a EW bateman also. Mine has a spacer and a hole for your finger..no elastic
