I just pulled in last night after a 10 day hunting trip to northern Kansas. Wow! That's about all I can say about the whole experience. I saw more nice bucks in 10 days than I've seen in Louisiana in the last 10 yrs.  Although the weather was quite warm for Kansas the deer seemed to move pretty well. I called in several nice bucks over my time there, but this nice "little" (by Kansas standards) 10 pt. left some does he was harassing and came in to my grunt call. I had a scent wick with some golden estrous on it and when he got down wind of it he walked right in broadside at 17 yrds. and stuck his nose to it.  I made a pretty good shot on him and he made it a little over a 100 yrds. I was hunting a small piece of private land my buddy has access to. I used a 3-piece Pronghorn longbow 51#@27" Goldtip shaft with 225gr. Woodsman head. Great hunt!!!  Can't wait till next year.

Congrats on the buck.  I had a similar situation.  When I lived in Wisconsin I saw more good bucks in my first season there than the previous 20 years back home in LA.

Beautiful deer!  I hope to see as much action up there as you did.  I'll be hunting the family farm around Thanksgiving.  What town were you near?  I hunt near Florence, about 30 miles n.e. of Newton.

That's a beautiful "little" buck! Wished I could kill a buck that small   :)  Congrats!!
