I hear it's the rut right now but I think the deer are on strike here in Oklahoma!

What are the temps and water situation? If it is warm and been dry, a lot of nocturnal rut can go on, especially if there are a lot more does than bucks in your area.

South Jersey deer must be in the same union as Oklahoma deer.

Guys...

Here in western WV along the Ohio river, I am seeing more bucks in the 10am to 2pm time frame. We just came off the full moon which I think contributed (JMO). Rut at night, bed early... back up in late morning/early afternoon roaming/checking/scraping on the ridges. Just my observation.

My son went out this morning and didn't see a deer (other than a doe and 2 young 'uns) until 11am... ended up seeing 3 bucks by 2pm.

Everything was late here this year. Late spring but still have green grass at this time. Scrapes showing up just this week (in volume). Should be kicking in good for the next week or two.

I seen a lone buck last evening... just before dark, leaving his bedding area and on the move.

P.S.
Of the three bucks seen today... 2 were together and one was all alone. Another indication that things are a bit later than usual here.

Good luck!

On strike in the AM here in Texas too.

Definitely more deer movement in afternoons...very late....last 1/2 hour of daylight.

Jim, Iam in northcentral and been seeing plenty. They are chasing hard. Seen the most between 9-10 am. This warm high wind today is tough

BRONZ

Last weekend the moon was too bright and the weather too warm.  I would assume a lot of night time activity.

I am going out at dark early in the morning only because I am taking my cap-lock due to rifle season opening here in MO and I only care about killing does.

I saw deer between 11 and 2pm today out feeding without a care in the world...

This will not be the case tomorrow... LOLO

The deer were going crazy this morning in Michigan! Bedding areas are heating up!
Just one more step please!

Some dude with a stick and string chasing things.

Michael Arnette

I went out Wednesday for the first time this year and saw a small buck doing some chasing and several does that were on the run. Everything should pick up with this cold front coming in.

razorsharptokill

Plenty of movement this morning! Saw bucks chasing does about 10:00. My buddy saw 3 different bucks.

Things are happening here in central WV. I could only hunt for a few hours Sat. morning. I had a small buck chasing a doe for 3 hours from 8 until 11. The closest they came to me was about 50 yards but put on quite a show. I saw another bigger buck hounding a doe when I was heading off of the hill about noon.

I sure wish I had some vacation for next week. I changed jobs in August and my vacation won't start until January. Daggone it!!!

I did manage to make meat with my new to me Shrew on the way to the truck.

Yep we had the same thing this weekend.  Right at dark but I didn't think about it hard enough.  When they are doing that they are also active in the middle of the day.  Should have been out there from 11 - 2.

About the time I was having coffee and breakfast, they were cruising the lines.
