Hello all, first post.

I am hooked on trad. archery after shooting a friend of mine's recurve the other day.
I have researched the differences in bows and have an interest in the PSE Legacy longbow.

Anyone here have any insights to the pros and cons of this bow?

Any suggestions for a longbow for a newbie starting out?   :D

Thanks!

Hello scott and welcome. I know nothing of the legacy bow but some one on here should know something and have you looked at the classfied adds on here there may be something on there also for you

They are  a good entry level bow, made overseas I think. If you are shooting a  recurve well, you might want to shoot a longbow before buying one, they are a whole different animal. I shoot a curve pretty darn good, but struggle with a long bow. Hope this helps. Sam.

I've got a PSE Sequioa longbow that I've been pleased with for an entry level longbow.  It's 50# @ 28" and 68" long.  This is my first non-compound bow and I feel confident that I can put some meat in the freezer with it.

The Sequoia is a good deflex/reflex design, and will shoot as well as you can shoot it.  Of course it isn't a $1000.00 custom, but it will kill just as well.  It's always.....always.....the guy behind the bow that creates the accuracy.  And yes, it's imported, just like Carbon Express arrows, ChekMate bows, Border bows, and nearly all of the exotic hardwoods used in our custom American made bows. 8^).

They are Italian and can be a good deal used or on special ($100 at the PSE pro shop in Tucson a couple of months ago).  At full price you might do better used from the classified, ask and most guys here are great about helping you get started with their bow, tuning, quirks, etc.

They are a great entry level bow. As a matter of fact I had one passed to me as I began my trad journey. If I had not just passed it forward to another beginner I would send it your way. Maybe one will come your way soon. Best of luck

Thanks for the responses guys.
Dave, thanks for the offer...
I would like to shoot a longbow versus a recurve to see how they compare.  I am shooting the recurve fairly well.
I'll take a look in the classified section.
Thanks!

Take a look at White Wolf's newest longbows. They are reasonable in price and made here in the USA. Nice shooting bow and for the price you won't go wrong. Have been shooting White Wolf Bows for the past year and winning my share of shoots. Very smooth and forgiving.

Scott, I just switched to trad and I'm 23.  I was shooting a bear curve and did good with it, although I bought a Humming bird Kingfisher and love the bow, its beautiful and I love the feel of the long bow vs curve.  I equally shoot both as good as the other though.  I like the b/d long bows best. also i like the looks.

Yeah, I am now leaning towards a recurve.
Simply for the fact that I am shooting my friends quite well and it feels good.
Wish I could talk him out of that bow, but that's a no go, he loves it too.
I am now looking at a PSE Blackhawk recurve.

my pse legacy is the only bow that I havent sold or traded its not my go to bow but I always shoot good with that bow maybe it should be my main bow, the only bad thing i can see is the hand shock, and for me its really not that bad
