Rich Wormington of Yellowstone bows

A nice heavy Howard Hill.  I'm shooting a 60# @ 29 Halfbreed and it seems to move the arrows downrange pretty quickly.

You might want to checkout Northern mist longbows, Steve makes a great hill style bow.

I have 2 Hill style bows by Dan Toelke, handshock is almost non-existant, they are smooth, forgiving, ridiculously quiet and I recently chronographed my 49# bow with a 540 gr. MOHAWK!

I've got to second the Mohawk! I love my Hill bow more but, I don't think it is as fast as my Mohawk was. Regret getting rid of it to this day.

If you are looking to shoot in IFAA competition, you'd better follow the prior winners... Fox Royal Crown. Most of the others mentioned are great hunting bows, but for pure tack driving all day accuracy in competition shooting weight there is a reason the big names use the Fox.

I've owened a Yellowstone and they are great bows. Ain't had one yet but hear Mohawks are top of the line and a great bang for the buck too.

Border Griffon GL from Scotland. The "GL" stands for "glassless". The Griffon has carbon-lighter than glass yet more torsionally stiff. The speed rivals many recurves without being basically a recurve like so many hybrid "longbows" of today that wouldn't meet the rules criteria (or even look like longbows in my opinion). I understand the bow has won more European tourney's than any other. I have also heard great things about the Fox longbows as well.

My experience tells me a Dwyer or a Mohawk.  Pretty fast, real quiet and very forgiving.  Also, bioth bowyers are great folks to work with.

I've owned 2 different Fox longbows and a breed they are all sweet shooters.

I will second Marty's Apex Predator Cumberland.  Mine is 75# at 27" and shoots a 715 grn arrow about 160 ish fps and a 650 grn arrow about 175 fps.  Not too shabby for my shorter draw length.  Not quite as fast as my Hill but it definately shoots consistently where I look.
