Finally got some pics taken...

Shot this gut this evening with my ACS 49@27, CX Heritage shaft and Snuffer SS. The shot was 7 yards.

I had seen a couple does drop off the ridge above me about 100 yards away. I hit the Can a couple times and gave a couple light grunts. This guy couldn't stand it. He came walking straight to me. I was afraid he would walk straight under me, but he finally veered off to my right just enough.

He was quartering ever so slightly to me, but if I let him go any further he would have been in the brush.

After the shot I heard he run about 80 yards then I heard him make two choking sounds. I gave him 30 mins then walked right up to him.

Bad part is when I was starting to hang him, it had just started pouring rain. I had just lifted him off the ground, when the strap on my hoist broke. Both me and the deer went tumbling!!

Should have had a video, would have been good for a laugh or two!!

I had this same buck and 30 yards and closing on Tuesday, but a swirling wind cost me a chance at him that day. That was in another stand 1/2 mile from where I killed him tonight.

Also, I killed him about 100 yards from where I killed the buck in my AVATAR last year at this time.
