Years ago I had a takedown Hatfield recurve that had knurled knobs for takedown/assembly. It was easy to do without tools. Is this a possibility with most of todays takedown? I like being able to just carry a small case the length of the arrows and assemble things when I am at the range or in the field. Thanks

If your looking for a longbow, look at the Black Widow or Howard Hill sleeve takedowns. No tools needed, and super strong connection.

I should have mentioned I am thinking of the 3 piece takedown models.  I like the small package they make.

Greg, yes most of the 3 piece takedowns that I know will work with the knurreled knobs you are talking about.  Antler nobs are another great option and surve the same purpose.

If you find a bow you like and want the knurled knobs you can get them from Bingham Projects, most everyone uses the same size bolt.
