I want to get my son another longbow.  Something that is good quality and shoots well.  Looking for a bow that is #35 @ 28 inches. We had one that was #40 and it was too heavy for him. Did  a search and read some posts, but would appreciate any advice.  Thanks

Check out MadDog Archery, he's a sponsor.  Give Mike a call, he can take care of you.

Black Rhino is also very good.  The M58 should fit him very well.

I would think any custom bow maker could make a bow to those specs.  I had a Shrew made for my wife that was 28#@24".

Mike, what do you figure that bow to be at 24"?
Only when the last tree has died

I'd recommend you get a bow that can grow with him some as his draw length grows. Find out how much he can actually pull weight wise at his draw if possible, you may find he can use a much heavier at 28" bow than you think and that way he can get a lot more years out of the bow. The Maddog, Sheepeater, Black Rhino, etc are all good bows. What exactly is the goal for the bow? Is it just for shooting in the backyard? Do you hope for him to hunt with it down the line? How much time you can get out of the bow could make a price decision easier.
