ok so I certainly make  my fair share of mistakes, but this one tops them all:

I have a hall in my apartment that runs about 13 yards from the front door to my roommates door. In other words its the perfect distance to practice when I'm too lazy to drive to the farm. Well i have just made up 2 new arrows out of the Barta wilderness arrows from 3rivers spined 45-50. On the front i have the threaded outsert adapters and then i have the 300 gr Ashby Broadheads screwed in. Well i was doing some testing to be sure i wasn't underspined because i am using a 50# at 28" bow and i pull 29". These arrows were flying flawlessly at this short distance so i think they will work just fine. Now when i decide to shoot inside i usually turn on the tv because I'm sort of ADD. Today i had it turned on to Comedy Central, bad idea! I forget what was said but i started cracking up at full draw and let the arrow fly! It went about an inch higher than the target and halfway through my roommates wooden door! Anybody know how to fix a hole in a door?   :knothead:

Check out bowdoc's thread with title "Restoration 101".

When I was a kid, any good poster worked on doors and walls of my brother's and my room. That was until dad deciced he was going to paint.  :scared:    :knothead:

We need a Pic!!!    :help:  sorry sounds like something I would do. When my wife is gone I shoot in the house into the fire place so far I haven't missed, but it's only about 6 yards.

It was a cold, rainy day here in the northwest (typical) and I was shooting from my family room to a target in the back yard.  After retrieving the arrows and getting ready to shoot again, I forget I had closed the sliding glass patio door.

BTW, did you know that a 2020 arrow going 175 fps through double pane glass sounds very similar to a shotgun blast?

Needless to say, the wife says my shooting in house is now banned.

I don't have a camera(til Christmas anyways if my gf will get me one....) but its not that bad looking! At least I can have confidence in the penetration of this setup I guess, I'm laughin pretty hard every time I look at the hole though. The best part is that i had been shooting for almost 30 minutes and had made a perfect shot every time until sombody on tv said 1 comment that just tickled the crap out of me!

Blackhawk... that sounds like a great advertisement for "windex"

I shoot at a target that is against the back wall of my garage.  Ocasionally I make a really bad shot and now I have 6 or 7 holes in the back of the garage.  The good news is that they are all in one piece of Hardy plank.

ChuckC

Did the braodhead twist or rotate as it went thru the door ?

A little bit of wood puddy and a matching color marker or paint will fix you up.

Razorback-that reminds me of my childhood.  I was convinced that I was going to be a ninja when I grew up.  Too bad my dad decided he didn't like the Metallica poster on the wall one day when I was gone.  Underneath was a huge bullseye with the accompanying 1000 throwing star and knife holes...  My ninja days were over at an early age.

Nope, it just went straight thru, but you can very easily see the bevels. The door is basically just 2 pieces of 1/8 inch plywood with about 1.5" of air and that honeycomb type wood support. It got about 6 inches of penetration on the back of the door. Not too shabby for a cedar arrow! And the Ashby was still razor sharp after I yanked out. When i first tried to pull it out the broadhead caught and tore the outsert off the arrow so i had to exercise my vice-grips a little bit!

I shoot in my condo, city livin sucks. My wall and furniture have holes.

Bondo and spray paint.  Do it before the landlord sees it....

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Just put in a peep hole like you would in a front door.
