I have an xcellerator and one of their 560 takedowns. Both shoot great and look beautiful. I haven't shot many custom bows so I can't really compare but I don't have any complaints at all.

Plus Mike, Carol and Jason are great people!

I like my(48#)excellerator. My TurkeyCreeks grip seems to suit me better though for some reason. Got a Pronghorn coming soon and if I like it I'm going to try to find a new home for my fedora- Steve

I had a 1 piece fedora 560. It was the quietist recurve I`ve ever owned and was fast to boot.Wish I had it back.RC

I had one a few years ago. It didn't fit me well and had a lot of handshock. Sorry, I don't remember which model it was.

I've heard lots of great things from other users, though. You just never know until you shoot it for yourself.

I had a 560 that I loved.  Had a take down extreme that was real nice.  I also had the xcellerator, it was a little shocky with the original string, but alot better with a different string.  All of them were fast and quiet with good worksmanship.  I would love to have that 56  T0 back,  it was very quiet and fast.  The Fedoras are great people to deal with.
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

I shot one last week and the handshock was incredible. Very bad. But the bow was screamin fast and in Fedora's defense the brace ht could have been wong or some other issue with the string etc. Still, Christians or not, it was severe.

I have had 2 recurves and have an xtreme LB. The bows are bulletproof and good looking; but you have to do your part to get it tuned just right, a skinny string is a big help.

I bought one new from Mike that he built to handle FF strings. He still cut the warranty in half if I wanted to use a FF string.

I have a Fedora 560, 50 lbs. draw, 60" long one piece, osage outside of limbs, bamboo center of limbs, black locust riser.  Shoots fast & is a tough bow.  At the range earlier this summer had a nock break dry fire.  Bow jumped straight up & down out of my hand and landed tip first on asphalt.  Scratched the finish off the tip end, but otherwise the bow was fine.

Joshua,

Just curious, did you shoot the one at Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear?

I shot one last week at RMSG, and I had the same experience. Hand shock, but fast. Im thinking it could have used some tuning as well. I believe it has potential. It was one of the prettiest recurevs Tom had is his store, as a great price to boot. I can be seen on his site.

I have a few Fedora bows and own many custom bows. The workmanship is excellent and Mike is a great person to deal with. I have a brazilian rosewood 560 recurve with brazilian tulipwood veneers over bamboo. The bow is 60" 53# at 28". Its a joy to shoot and absolutely beautiful.

I am shooting my dads right now and I love it. I don't know what model it is but it's beautiful. It is very fast and quiet. I have experencied no handshock at all. Good luck

Believe it or not the "HARDWAY" is often the EASIER way(in hindsight)!

Yup, the bow I shot was at RMSG. Everything I have heard or read about Fedora is positive, so I suspect there is an issue with either how the bow is tuned or someone messed with the limbs or it is tillered for a very particular kind of style. I would think given the great history of Fedora bows that it would/could/will loose the handshock.
