Forecast showed all rain was gone yesterday so a friend and I bolted out of work and headed for his farm. I climbed into my stand in a pinch point on the edge of a huge soybean field. The rain was gone but the wind and mist continued throughout the evening. I love these kind of days as the deer seem to move really well. At 5:30 I saw the first visitors to the beans, a doe and her fawn popped out about 200 yards away. Later two more does popped out with their little sidekicks. Watching them for about an hour feeding their way around the edge of the field toward me finally one of the does stepped into my left shooting lane. She was facing me so didn't want to take that shot and waited and hoped she would proceed to my center shooting lane. She did and I released the arrow. It passed through her like butter and stuck in the mud on the opposite side of her. She ran off and tumped (thats a good KY word) over in the beans about 50 yards away.

Thanks to Ron at KME for the unreal sharp edge on my Magnus Stingers. Bow is my Schafer Silvertip 58" and 50 lbs @ 28". Arrow was a 3 rivers Trad Only with 100 grain brass insert. Total arrow weight is right at 500 grains.

Back straps this week for the family. Good luck and be safe.

You southern boys have your own vocabulary like us hillbillies do   :)

Love those Schafers -I have 2 - Glad to see someone shoots big does - hillbilly definition - big doe = logger head - smartest deer in the woods.

Congrats on the doe and good shot !!!!!
