I already have Open Office and I would like to try Stu Miller's Dyanamic Spine Calculator program. But, before I download DSC, does his program put an icon on the Desktop so I can find it quickly or do I have to find it by sorting through files on my computer's hard drive?

No desktop icon that I'm aware of.  I just saved it by name in "my programs" then when you open "Open office spreadsheet" and find it the first time, you'll be done searching.  After the first time OO file will list recently used programs and will load it easily.

You can save it to my programs or my documents what ever you have and then put a shourt cut on the desktop or just save it directly to you desktop.

If you want to go the shortcut way just save it to my programs or my documents and then right click on it and left click on create a shortcut then left click and hold on the shortcut you created and drag and drop it on your desktop.
