how many strings can you get out of a 1/4 spool. I want to start making my own strings and was just curious

Im learning now, I made two using two different spools(colors) and you can hardly tell they were touched.

I forgot which material I made a count on, but from two 1/4 # spools I got 30-32.

It will depend on how many strands per string, string length and strand thickness . . .

remember the old Lolipop commercial with the owl - how many licks - "the world may never know"

D97 has 1675' per 1/4# spool

For example on average 75" per strand for a 62" recurve x 14 strands = 87.5 ' per string = a shade over 19 strings per 1/4# spool

BCY list the average footage per lb on their website....yeah I'm bored...lol
