Anybody know if there is a standard "thread size/count" on stabilizers?

So I am out last night, practicing with my supermag 48- and I get this idea to take the stabilizer out of my wheelie and put it into the supermag.  

WOW!   Was it mental??  I dont know, but-it tightened up my groups some.   Much to my chagrin-it seems, this stabilizer just barely crowds my pinky finger on the grip.  

So I have an idea to build one with threaded rod, a large dowel and lead weight.

with the right stain, the stabilizer should match the bow, and I can adjust it in/out until I find the best location for it, and it should clear my little finger.

Anybody else use a stabilizer on a recurve?

I went to the hardware store and got a peice to extend the length of a small stabilizer for a compound.  Just getting that weight out there really makes a difference.

I believe it is a 5/16-20 for stabilizer bushing.
