So I got new arrows to start shooting the recurve again. A local shop helped with the spine check. So the arrows have banana's on them and fly great with FP. So today I found a Magnus I (1 1/2 cut) floating around and put it on a arrow same wt tips. Butwhen I shoot it fishtails all the way to the target and one shot even went high a little bit and to the right. Almost like bare shafting flight. So are these BH to big for the banana's? Or spine a little weak? Should I try 145gr,125gr instead? Thanks again for the help

Did you spin test the broadheads?

YES I DID NOT PURFECT BUT NOT BAD I WOULD SHOOT IT WITH MY COMPOUND.

Same thing happened to me when I was broadhead tuning.  My problem was that I was overspined for my 125grn heads.  Got heaveir heads and now my broad heads fly like darts.

When I was bareshaft tuning, I was only getting OK results but thought it was good enough.  When I put the Bh on, it magnified my problem.

I would be double-checking the spine of the shafts. Wanna let us in on the specs of you, your bow and said arrows?

Maybe you said above, but are the shafts wood, aluminum, or carbon?  No matter which I would say you need a heavier point for shafts spined at 80 lbs.

I shoot carbons (Beman MFX 340's) that I would bet are just as stiff or stiffer and with a 62lb bow I use 200 grain tips.

Way over spined I'd bet...

I shoot them on my bows at that weight and I use 3555 gold tips they spine at around 59lbs. I shoot them 30" long. With and aliminum insert they weigh 175 grains. I shoot a longbow.LCH

Tooooooooo stiff.  Add some tip weight.  The Magnus is one of the best flying heads out there, so you need more bend in that arrow.  I've yet to see a "Pro Shop" get anything right for a traditional shooter.....unless it's a traditional shop.  Most are use to dealing with confound devices that don't require spine.

Maybe a little stiff but not imo toooooooo stiff. I shoot a widow psaII 53# at 29" i shoot for hunting easton FMJ 340 spine cut to 30" with 75 grain brass insert and 125 grain silver flames, 200 grains total up front, They bareshaft perfect and broadheads group right on with the fieldpoints.
for competition I use woods cut to 29.5 inches 75-80 spine with 165 grains up front (125 grain point and 40 grain top hat adapter)
They fly like darts and bareshaft perfect too, In fact I just won the Norwegian field archery champs (FITA) trad class so I know they work

There are alot of variables to think of, everyone shoots a little differently so spine can be up to a point a personal thing too.

Now you say that you have banana fletching on the arrows, but is there enough helical,or even any at all? I have seen finished arrows sold in shops wit no helical at all, no problem for field points, but BHs need helical...

In your quest to find the problem adjust only one thing at a time.
Much can be done by adjusting the brace height, I find my widow like a brace height of between 8 3/4 " and 8 7/8 " any less than this will result in bad groups, especially with BHs

If the arrows were too stiff, in my experience they would have a tendancy to hit left with broadheads..

The naners have plenty of helical. The shop is a trad only shop. The arrows are wood. They are cut to 29.5 with 160 gr tips. I might have to try a heavier tip but how many are there over 160 gr?? Thanks

Looking from the back of the arrow it looks like a boat propeller. Lots of twist

Might try to mess with the BH today

Try raising your nock or put your arrow on top of your nock and see how they shoot.  Turn cock feather in, both easy solutions if they work.

adjusted my BH 1/4 " and now they are shooting darts. Thanks for the help

Glad to hear that the brace height helped..  

Now Black Widow recommend a minimum of 8 1/2 inches.. you may find that adding a few twists will really improve your grouping and not least the bow will be quieter too  

Just add a couple of twists at a time, shoot a few groups and take notes on group size... As i said before my bow shoots best at 8 3/4 to 8 7/8.... I was surprised just how high a brace height my Widow likes..   Now of course everyone shoots a little different so you are best to try your self. Once the groups and /or arrow flight get worse again back up to your best height  and make a note of it
