Just a reminder to those who hunt from elevated positions.... please dont forget to wear your safety harness!!! If you dont have one, Get one!  :knothead:   Put the ego aside....  you should wear a suspension type, with leg straps. Hook it up when you leave the ground. Before doin anything stupid always remember... you have family and friends back home that depend on you.

first time out with my Summit bushmaster. The harness is comfortable and I didn't even "know" I was wearing it.

You and your family are much better off with you wearing a harness. Comfortable, easy to use, put em on in two minutes.

I always use my SOP harness, but I bought two new stands this year from Sportsman's guide and both came with a safety harness, so if you don't have one and need one, I have two available for postage.

just had to reply. I have a buddy who fell 20ft
out of a tree 2 days ago. He is currently in the
hospital with a broken pelvis. Luckily that is
all he broke. He was wearing a safety belt, but
took it off to climb out. The limbs that he was
standing on broke. be careful!!

I use a climbing system, with Purrsik Knot and rope to decend.  Once you get it set up, you can climb and desend, while being safley attached to a rope.
TIP: Take an International Bowhunter Education Program course!  Even us "old timmers" can learn something.  I Still Learn, everytime we teach a course!

Remember never leave the ground with out being attached to the tree. A few extra seconds to climb with a safety line or linemans belt will equal years of extra time to huntr.

Actually, I don't think I'll need mine this year since I'll be hunting from the ground with my Millennium Tree Seat.  :)   I'm going to find a tree in the middle of a dead fall or some fairly densely populated saplings and setup off some good trails.
