I'm really going thru the bottom feathers on my arrows. Is this caused by my nock being too high or low? The feather is hitting the shelf, but I  dont know how to fix it(nock up or down). If I shoot cock vane in it doesnt do it..Roy

I used to have that problem when I shot right wing feathers off of a right handed bow.  Now that I shoot left wing the shafts wear out before the feathers do.

Kenneth

yep, since I started using right wing feathers I've noticed they wear out REAL FAST.
Chasing my kids and my degree for now but come next fall the critters better look out.  ;)

Don Stokes

Roy, I suggest you shoot cock feather in, since it works.    :)

They don't porpoise up and down too, do they? Maybe the nocking point needs to move up a touch.

I'm shooting RW feathers on a rh bow. If I shoot a dozen times you can really tell it on the feather. I shot some arrows I had never shot and the feather looked bad that fast.

And you might try turning the nock slightly so the bottom feather is pointed slightly out and the cock feather is slightly up.  The rest will almost split the to hen feathers.  I've been doing that for years using RH featers with a RH bow.

y not just change to left wing feathers?  seems like a simple enough fix?!?!

I'm going to switch to lw, but I didnt know what I could do to fix this. The onestringer wraps are new and switching will ruin them...Roy

Double Tee

You "may" be a tad stiff on spine? that can cause it to hit the shelf and cause some wear? I shoot cock feather in or out and they fly the same,if you have it tuned to the bow it should clear the riser etc.?
