I have been having trouble quieting down one of my Bob Lee Bows--tried all kinds of string silencers in all kinds of positions with some improvement, but not the result I had hoped for. I have other bows which are TOTALLY quiet on release with only sring silencers, usually the kind made out of fur or wool. I was watching something or other the other day and noted that Gene Wensel had some of those rubber stick-on silencers on the limbs of his (I Think) Morrison recurve. I have avoided them due to aesthetics but decided to try them on the Lee. WOW!!! They look terrible but the bow is as quiet as a mouse. I placed them at the narrowest part of the limb where they'd fit, which turns out to be halfway between the grip and the tips. Worth a try if you're having trouble. Don't know if it slows things down at all.....doesn't seem to.

I know just what you mean. I tryied everything before Limbsavers, finally put them 8" from limb tip and wow they really work!!! Still don't like the looks of them. Should make them to look like antler burrs or something more trad.

You have Limbsavers on your ACS? My ACS is already stunningly quiet with just the wooly silencers provided by A&H. I cannot imagine how quiet your bow must be . . .

huntryx, great idea, After I started shooting my recurve with out a bow quiver on it I noticed That it wasn't as quiet as before, so just for fun I put limb savers on and she is shooting as quiet as before, if not quieter! The bow was very quiet with or with out anyway, but my thinking is you can't have a bow to quiet for the rader ears of whitetails! whom by the way,I swear han hear your heart beating in your chest from 30 yards!!

After ready the TBH recommendation to put them at the end of the limbs as opposed to the fadeouts, I tried it and was impressed with the results. The problem is they won't stay on. I've had two snap off of the top limb. I thought I'd left some wax on the limb, but upon closer inspection they had snapped off the adhesive baseplate, which stayed firmly attached. These are the minis. Will they just not take the stress at that location?

I've been using them for years and love them. They may not make a fashion statement, but they sure do work!

They are the ugliest thing to put on a bow that man could ever have come up with.......I have them on 3 bows and they seem to help. I never tried them on my Bob Lee,maybe I should.

The full size work well on my Bob Lee and other recurves. I pulled them off and moved them around the fade out area and ended up putting them just at the fade outs. Never had a sticking problem with just a alcohol wipe before sticking them on. I worried about putting them too far out the dynamic end of the limb but have seen some out quite far on wheelie bows.

I put them on my bows to.They do make a differance,"for the better".
